Good article, despite a minor error or two. I am glad to see Apple supporting the efforts of excellent shareware programers such as Lemke. Graphic Converter is one of the best Graphic utility/apps out there, and it was the best $35 I ever invested. I still haven't learned all the tricks that it can do. Lemke's dedication to the Mac was demonstrated by how quickly an OS-X version was made available.
I'm glad to see Apple acnolwledge Lemke like this.
Good job Apple!
I would have kept Graphic Converter had it not taken over my Mac every time I wanted to try it out. This trend of diabling a person's computer until they register is annoying. Any program that takes over your computer for one second or one minute is just rude.
Use Mac OS X. No app can take over your computer there!
I couldn't agree more! I can't believe Lemke's audacity, making people wait 7 seconds before allowing them to use his software for free.
But you know what's even worse? Those companies that hide their software in shrink-wrapped boxes and then make you go to the store or call a catalogue company to buy it. Such an imposition! What _are_ they thinking?
It's not 7 seconds, it's 10, and it's rude.
What about you? Are you really so impatient that you can't wait 10 seconds before trying excellent, full featured software?!
Which would you rather have, crippled software or full featured software that you have to wait a measly ten seconds before using it?
If it bothers you that much, buy the thing!
photoshop = $600
Graphic Converter = $35
it's no photoshop, but it comes real damn close to it. You can't beat that price for the features you get.
