Consumers don't need too many ludicrous choices like 533Mhz or a 667Mhz or 733Mhz. Remember the days of the 7200/7600/85000/8600/9500 and so on? Keep it simple! One high end model (some of us) can drool over and a lower end for the fiscally strapped.
Good move Apple!
Dual 667's perhaps, but a single is pointless...perhaps without the dual 533 it would have been a good choice.
Why doesn't Apple just make all the models dual processors again?
This way they can dump the single 533, and be able to sell the 667's avoiding loosing money offering a somewhat unpopular system. The price of each system still allows Apple to profit quite a bit anyways... they don't really include as many useful software with them which PC makers seem to sell their systems for the included package(AppleWorks should be included).
Apple isn't going to have that many sales until MacWorld NY, which everyone will be getting ready for systems with OS X preinstalled. I'm holding off until then for a new system...
and not 7450s. I do not appreciate the lack of clear distinction on apples store.

ummm...becuase moto can't make enought of them?
Maybe there's a good side to this.
Wouldn't it stand to reason that if there were problems delivering 733 G4+ chips, Apple would keep a 667 option?
Maybe 733's are in plentiful [relatively speaking] supply and Apple is stocking up on 800-1GHz chips for July Mac World.
OK, I'm a Pollyanna. :-)
who cares about dual processors- i want a two-button mouse with a scrollbar that works. that's all.
Look for the 733 single to take the place of the 667. Look for a Dual 733 to be the top end machine.
Thats my guess.
What... Are all the trolls taking Good Friday off? I almost feel obliged to stand in for them with the usual "It just goes to show Apple sucks" garbage! But I think they've got a business to run and the 677 config was pretty marginal. Now, I'm looking forward to MacWorld. If they've got anything else as cool as the TiBook, that will rock! Oh, wait, I mean Apple's about to go under and OSX sucks and all that jazz. NOT!

The number is just too close to, well, you know.
