Escape from Monkey Island for Mac OS X

Westlake Interactive has reiterated the announcement made by Aspyr Media earlier this week that Escape from Monkey Island for the Mac should be released later this week, but has also announced that the company is currently in the early stages of building an OS X version of the game. Escape from Monkey Island will be one of the first games on the Mac to ship initially with full support for Creative's SoundBlaster Live!.

    This is too flippen cool! First off, Escape from Monkey Island comes to the Macintosh. Then OSX comes to the Macintosh. Now Escape from Monkey Island comes to OSX?!? This is better than StoveTop instead of stuffing...HONEY I LOVE YOU! My G4/733 with Cinema Display & OSX anxiously awaits the Monkey!

    Monkey Island 4

    I'm already well underway playing the pc-version that I co...eh borrowed from a friend and play on my girlfriends pc. I'm a bit disappointed with the interface, which (I found out reading some reviews) is similar to Grim Fandango, a game I never played...

    There is no mouse-interaction, just a keyboard/gamepad-driven interface that would be much more suitable for a console (and seeing as it's being ported to PS2 this proves my point), than on a desktop pc/mac. The controls and scene-changes are confusing wether you use character-related or camera-related directions. The latter is less confusing, but annoying when the angle changes and you might end up back where you came from :P

    The jokes are as funny as ever though, and I haven't come that far yet.

    And the 3d graphics are almost as good as the handdrawn Monkey Island 3 graphics were.
