Asanté today announced its FriendlyNET FR3004C, a new addition to its cable/DSL router that now offers a redundant back-up modem. The $160 router shares a connection with up to 253 users, offers a packet filtering firewall with network address translation (NAT), and includes complete access control for up to three groups (based on TCP and UDP ports), physical security hooks/mounting holes, and an integrated 4-port 10/100 Fast Ethernet switch. A model with a parallel printer port (and integrated print server) and redundant modem is $180.

Asante Cable/DSL Router
I just want to say that I feel this is an all out great router. It says that it is easily configured through your web browser, has 4-port 10/100 ethernet switch that run at full-duplex which makes each port run at 200Mb/sec (So far this feature in itself is a great leg up onthe other hot selling Cable/DSL router, switch, hub equipment out on the market). It also has a Parallel port on one of the models which i think is great. It might actually solve my problem with my LaserJet 5L. I have a G4/400MHz and could not get anything cable wise to work with my LaserJet 5L. I tried Belkins Blue Parallel/USB and it works but you have to turn off the extensions that are very vital to your OS in or for it to print. I told them that they need to get there c*** together. Then I tried some other brands and most of them didn't even work. So I figure well if I use it as a network printer through this device then it might just work. Also one last feature the redundant modem. Now I'm not sure what would be a great thing to use this for unless for some odd reason you where in a work evironment and had a modem connection to a WAN, but why would you do that? Well these are just my poin of views.
BTW the site is great and have been a reader for a long time.
