Morning tech news: Douglas R. Kraul, one of the "initial product developers" at Apple, has joined the Smart Disk Corporation as Chief Technology Officer. SmartDisk is a manufacturer of VST-branded Macintosh FireWire and USB-based storage devices and PowerBook peripherals. Handspring says it sees "continued sales growth in our business at this time" despite the current economic conditions, following rival Palm's warning yesterday that sales were beginning to slip.
