Aspyr's status update on upcoming games
updated 05:45 pm EST, Tue March 27, 2001
Aspyr Media has provided updates today on many of its upcoming games including Escape from Monkey Island (which should ship on Friday), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, American McGee's Alice as well as Tomb Raider: Chronicles and its bundled level editor...
Escape from Monkey Island has gone into duplication and should ship Friday. Woohoo! Preorders could be received as early as next week!
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is in late Beta development. The game is playing fabulously and Michael Rogers, President of Aspyr, recently finished 100% of all level and was seen skating as SpiderMan (that's right, Spidey is a special bonus character).
Tomb Raider: Chronicles has gone beta. Mark Adams, President of Westlake Interactive, has done a phenomenal job with the conversion of this game. We are also extremely excited to hear that he has begun code work for the highly anticipated level editor. We will try to get an update later this week.
American McGee's Alice recently reached the first playable milestone. Brad Oliver, of Westlake Interactive, is jamming on this brilliant and somewhat twisted version of the childhood classic. The Omni Group is also working on an OS X version of this game, which will allow Aspyr to have one of the first OS X games available. More details to come.
