Iomega yesterday introduced Iomega DataSafe series of mid-range 160GB ($3300) and 320GB ($5000) network attached storage (NAS) servers in a 1U form factor. Developed in conjunction Maxtor, the new line of NAS servers will deliver cross-platform file serving for as little as $16/GB and include a 20- and 50-seat license (respectively) of Iomega QuickSync 3 automatic client backup software. Both models are expected to ship in the second quarter.
