Opera Software has announced the licensing of Macromedia's extremely popular Flash web-animation and interactive application technology. The company will bundle the Flash plug-in with the Macintosh version of its Opera browser, which is currently in a "tech-preview" release. Opera Software currently claims more than 20,000 are downloading its browser every day.

    A definite must

I've been using Opera since it was released for the Mac, and I must say that nothing can beat it on speed. I can't wait for the final release. Netscape is near enough dead and buried, thank goodness we have a new player in town.

    Does this program...

work in OS X? At the moment I use Macnn, which is still too slow and I've download Omniweb, but there is no Flash/Schockwave support on that at the moment.

I'd like to move to Opera (I used it on OS 9) and I admit it was the fastest out there.

    Opeara Supports Flash

At first I didn't think Opera worked with Flash, but I copied over the plugins from IE and it works fine.....Flash movies come up with no problem as far as I can tell....

    OS X

I can't wait until they carbonize Opera. It will become my default browser and I will hand over my money as soon as they ask for it.

    cool

I've got os X here. Explorer support is really bad. Omni is a pos. I'm looking forward to the opera browser on x. Don't rush it. Release when the code it ready and primed. Got a feeling icab will get there before opera. Just need more choices!

    IE 5.1b?

How do I get an update of IE 5? I have 5.0 and a few things annoy me ... like the lack of shift-arrow select in form text windows.

    Man,...

...this program has a ways to go before I even consider it a default browser. But what the hey, just another browser to program web pages to look nice on.
