Aleph One for Mac OS X
updated 05:35 pm EST, Mon March 26, 2001
The Marathon Open Source page has been updated with word that work is underway on carbonizing Aleph One, a popular recreation of Marathon with modernized OpenGL graphics and other amenities. "I've got Aleph One building under CodeWarrior Pro 6, targeting Carbon. It doesn't do networking and doesn't do save/open dialogs. It does build and produce a full binary...but I'm working through some initialization bugs."

One of (if not the) all-time favorite digital distracions, updated to handle better, well, everything! And now it's gonna' be OS X native! Man! If I ever get around to learning how to write code (a long time ambition of mine), this is definitely a project that I would love to help with. Can't wait to see a playable (without developer tools) version released. BTW, I also understand that in the not-to-distant future, the quite excelent expansion to the Maranthon trilogy - "Rubicon", will be Aleph One compatible. I also give major kudos to those responsible for "Return to Marathon." But I am more impressed with Rubicon.
