Third-party wireless cards not supported
updated 08:25 am EST, Mon March 26, 2001
Apple Tech Info Library notes that third-party wireless cards are not yet compatible with OS X. (Most cards are supported by Apple's AirPort software under Mac OS 8.6 and Mac OS 9.).

Lousy Powerbook support
Mac OS X doesn't even support the volume and brightness keys on Apple's own Powerbooks. Why should we expect that they will support any kind of 3rd party hardware for portables?
More seriously, I can't see migrating to MacOS X as the main OS for my Powerbook until Apple does some work on the OS for Powerbooks. The volume/brightness keys did not work on MacOS X PB either. How long can it take to have little things like this done? Never mind power management issues. Powerbook support is clearly not anywhere near the top of their list. There's no point installing OS X just to boot 9.1 all the time.
