MadsonLine announced shipping dates and added a few new products to its PowerBook G4 line of accessories. The $60 MadsonLine G4 Saver neoprene carrying case and the $90 G4 MicroAdapter (black), a 5 oz power adapter replacement, are due on April 1st. Both the G3-to-G4 "Generation Gap" Adapter converter, a $20 adapter that converts older style adapters to work with the G4 PowerBook, and the $40 G4 EmPower Aireline adapter which connects your G4 directly to most standard airline power plugs are due to ship on April 23rd. MadsonLine also introduced a new Titanium-style G4 MicroAdapter ($90) and a G4 Auto/Air Adapter ($75), which integrates a transformer into the barrel of the adapter. Both are due to ship around May 21st.

    warranty service?

Has anybody had experience with returning a broken adapter to Madsonline? My slimline G3 power adapter seems to have keeled over and I can't find my original receipt. I know I purchased it less than a year ago (ironically, to replace the G3's UFO-style adapter, which also broke). Are they cool about that sort of thing if you can supply a serial number?

    Yes, they were great!

Yes. Mine quit working. I called them on the phone and all they asked was my name and for my serial number. They immediately shipped me a new one, no questions asked. They didn't ask for a credit card nor waited for me to ship them the broken one. It came in a few days and I used the same packaging to send back the broken one. Painless!!!

    Plug Adapter $20 ?!?!!!

I recently bought a TiBook and I have an iBook (kids') and a PB G3 (wife's) at home with their associated AC adapters, and WAS looking forward to the plug adapters so all of us could use whichever AC connecter we needed to plug our comuter into.

I highly recommend their other products, but $20 is ridiculous for the plug adapters, even with good support (see above message), for something that would cost a coupla bucks at Radio Shack. I understand it's hard to do an order for less than $20 to cover order handling and bookkeeping, so including 2-3 in a package would be more reasonable. Or making it a $5 item with other items in an order.

    re: plug adapter $20 ?

I've been trying to make my own plug adapter for my PBG4 for a few weeks now, but haven't been able to source the parts to do so. I have a funny feeling that they aren't a standardized size and that it's going to cost me more than "a coupla bucks" to get them.
I'm gonna take the easy option and pay $20!!!
