Yesterday we published The Hardware Alternative, an editorial discussing the new gaming-focused hardware offerings soon to be available to Mac users and how it changes the viability of the Mac as a gaming platform; Human Head Studios announced a Mac version of expansion pack Rune: Halls of Valhalla, while also revealing new details on the game; Apple posted new drivers for the NVIDIA GeForce2 MX graphics cards in many of their Power Mac G4 models; Creative Labs announced their intent to ship the SoundBlaster Live! for the Mac in the weeks ahead, even as the company executes cost-cutting measures amid a slumping economy; Aspyr Media provided current estimated system requirements for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Mac, which is slated to hit store shelves in April; and the Mac version of Escape from Monkey Island reached golden master and is expected to be on store shelves before the end of the month.
