Tech: Microsoft opens Amman, Jordan office

Afternoon tech news: Among the products expected to be unveiled at this week's CTIA Wireless 2001 Expo in Las Vegas is the first wireless headset that can work with mobile phones equipped with Bluetooth short-range radio technology; Microsoft has opened a new office in Amman, Jordan to tap the potential of developing the nation into an information technology (IT) hub for the Middle East; a High Court judge has ordered two web sites in the UK to reveal which user was behind defamatory messages placed in discussion groups, a ruling that could have implications for any website that lets people post messages anonymously; and librarians and civil liberty activists plan to challenge a law scheduled to take effect on April 20 that would require U.S. libraries and schools that receive federal funding to block access to web sites that can be deemed obscene or harmful to young people.

Ericsson actually already sells a wireless headset that works using bluetooth in Europe. They have been doing that for atleast a couple of months.
