PFU America today introduced its Happy Hacking Keyboard Lite 2," which it says is about half the size of a letter-size paper. The $70 compact keyboard is based on SUN Type5 UNIX keyboard and has only 65 keys--all of which "are within reach without moving the wrists." Due in March, it offers a USB interface as well as two built-in USB ports and "true arrow keys".

    They're great keyboards

Very well laid out with a great feel. It's nice to see that you can use one on a recent Mac without paying for an adapter now.

I have the deluxe version which I use on my older Mac, Sun and Intel boxes. It is the greatest little keyboard I have ever owned. I picked up a second one at Linux World that I keep in my car so if I visit a customer I have a cross platform keyboard with me at all times. Fits fine in my laptop bag as well, just wish I could use it on my Firewire PB.
It is similar but significantly smaller than the old //gs keyboard. Got a few of those kicking around, actually used them often before getting my Happy Hacker!

For those using this -- and you obviously love it -- I still am not sure I understand what sets this apart from a normal Apple keyboard.

I have a Pismo powerbook and want to add a keyboard for my long writing sessions. Was leaning toward getting the Apple keyboard and now I saw this announcement.

    BEST keyboard

This is by far the best keyboard out there. I've been using it for quite a while now. Its best feature is certainly that the Control key is in the correct position.

If you have the PS/2 version, you can get an PS/2 to USB converter and use it with your Pismo. Quite a lot of PS/2 to USB convertes work with Macs.

    What?!

It's not like the Sun Type 5 keyboards!!

It doesn't have the "Sun Mystery Key!"

If you've seen a sun keyboard, you'll know what I'm talking about - that blank key in the upper left corner that doesn't actually do anything..

    Yes, *that* key. :)
