Afternoon tech news: The prices of flat-panel monitors continue to plummet and are luring some budget-minded consumers to the the world of Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD); a Senate committee, chaired by Sen. John McCain, continues to hear arguments on Internet sales tax as a Congressional ban on new Internet taxes expires in October; and this year's spring Internet World Conference is noticeably smaller with the "dot-com bust" continuing and the U.S. in an economic downturn.

    Does it matter? Compaq's displays suck. Of course you won't know this unless you've walked down the PeeCee aisle at your local computer store.

    Typo

    I admit that I made the typo, and it was quickly pointed out by a few of our readers and we fixed it immediately. There's no need to keep going on and on about a little typo. I was well aware what LCD stands for, and so there was no "fact checking" needed.
