Tech: Intel cuts chip prices

Evening tech news: Internet2, a private high-speed network code-named Abilene and currently reserved by research institutions for transferring high-quality audio and video, will be expanding to include additional colleges and K-12 schools; Voice-Over-DSL (VoDSL) will soon become an option for making multiple phone calls using a Digital Subscriber Line; and Intel has cut the prices of its Pentium III chips from 7 to 19 percent in addition to making nominal price cuts on its Pentium 4 line.
