World War II Online sea in summer

updated 06:35 pm EST, Fri March 2, 2001

Cornered Rat Software's Chris "Mo" Sherland notes in the company's online forums that the sea aspect of its upcoming massive multiplayer online war combat game, World War II Online, will be added as a free download during the summer. "...when we add ships we'll be adding Subs, DDs, cargo ships and the like, as well as coastal ships," says Sherland. "The plan is for Subs, DDs and above classes to be persistent while the smaller boats will be "spawnable". Persistent ships will need to be "purchased" by countries with resources "saved off" from their infrastructures." Thanks World War II Online HQ.

    WWII Online

I am glad to see that there is a WWII online game available for Mac users. It will hopefully generate more interest among a younger generation. My father was a fighter crew repair leader and I often hear about things in the North African and Italian fields of operations. This is one game I will investigate and tell friends about.

    Mac Version

They have stated that this version will be geared towards OS X. They have also said that it will be coming out soon after the PC version (read 1-2 months). They have an internal Mac team working on the conversion. I am also quite excited about this, as this type of game is something I dreamed about while playing Silent Service II as a kid on my Apple IIc+!
Mac gamers may not have all the games, but we certanly have most of the best.
