iTunes 7 under fire

Apple's recent release of its iTunes 7 multimedia software is drawing complaints from Mac as well as PC users, which range from poor sound quality to mobile phone troubles. Apple has already acknowledged numerous issues which include AirTunes' inability to connect to remote speakers, iTunes 7 inability to play interactive booklets purchased from the iTunes Music Store, album art not downloading properly, iPods not playing content purchased from the iTunes Music Store, and numerous cell phone users reporting that music transferred to their handsets after upgrading to iTunes 7.0 fails to play on the device. Some users reported only receiving audio during video playback, and one user claims his iTunes software has slowed to a crawl following the update, according to CRN. "Unless it is absolutely necessary for you to upgrade to iTunes 7 right now, I would advise holding off until a correct version is released - these forums are full of members who have spent hours trying to work out fixes - just stick with 6.0.3," one user suggested.

No way...

Using iTunes 7 right now. Love it. Works great. Over 4,000 songs in my library. I will admit that not all of the album art seems to have been found, although I got more than I had before! Looks great, no tech problems to speak of. I think that unless you have an iTunes phone, go ahead and upgrade! Heck, did anyone actually wait, anyway?

album art..

If album artwork has not been found, click on the link of that song or album to take you to the iTunes store in order to verify if that particularl music is actually available via iTunes. They can't download album art, if they don't have the songs.

But I'm glad it's working with the 30 some computers I've put it on.

Select two (or more) songs from the same album in your library, and then try to add album art MANUALLY to those multiple selections. Can you do it? I can't. After a brief "hiccup," nothing at all happens.

Other than problems with retreiving album art, it seems to work fine. Though my old shuffle no longer has the option to keep the playlist there when it is disconnected. I miss that feature as I could add things at the spur of the moment.

Otherwise, I have not yet detected any problems.

some songs not working fo

I too have upgraded but some songs I have purchased via IT7 will not play on my 4th gen 20 gig ipod. When I select play the songs just skip by until one of the other titles I purchased long ago comes up then that one plays. I hope Apple fixes this soon before the trolls take this and run.

Video quality issues

09/20, 08:27am reply

On some videos I bought of from the iTunes Music store the audio is fine, but the image is choppy and compleatly unviewable...they work fine in quicktime but not in iTunes 7.

Hope Apple gets on it quick!

audio quality.

the audio quality blows!

It sounds like many of the songs are being played in a toilet filled with mud. Huge difference between it and my iPod even using the same headphones.

Very disappointed.

I had problems

I've noticed no audio issues in iTunes 7 on a Mac or PC. I've noticed no AirTunes issues too.

My problems come from the videos. They wouldn't play. BUt that was fixed once I updated to Quicktime 7.13. But once they played, it was choppy and heavily pixellated, if the video was viewable at all. But the audio would always come through just fine.

I pretty much just chalked it up to running a secondary monitor on a 1st Gen PowerBook G4 12" and a lack of memory.
