    worth the download?

Is this program worth keeping around if I already have access to Photoshop? I just started to learn Photoshop and don't know it well enough to gauge the usefulness of getting Graphic Converter.

    YES

I've used Photoshop for years, but there's nothing as good as Graphic Converter when you need to do a simple image crop or file conversion. Definately a usefull app.

    A Must Have

Graphic Converter is a truely great program. It does many thing photoshop doesn't do like slide shows and creating file browsers.

    Absolutely yes. GC Rocks.

Photoshop is a great tool for lots of things, and GC is just as great. Batch conversions, the Browser, support for tons of formats, HTML catalogs of your images... yes, it is definitely worth keeping around. I use it everyday side by side with Photoshop.

    Fast

And it opens incredibly fast, one or two seconds!

    Amen

Amazing little app (and I mean little-it's 3.6mb for the app) which does so much.

    Great stuff

Just a note: 4.04 likes about 8mb more RAM than 4.02 to run.

    Photoshop and GC

The two compliment each other beautifully. Besides, for free or for $30, who can complain that GC is an unnecessary extra...the thing is good, fast, and does many thing PS can't. Unfortunately, it's inhereted some quirks and bugs as it matured that were not present in the old version. When saving JPEGs, you must copy and paste the image into a new file to get the new compression and size to actually take effect. Image icons don't always appear correctly on the first save. However, I'd gladly live with GC with these problems than live without it. The program is AS indespensible as PS if not more so (I went for 2 years without PS, but can't seem to make it through a weekend without GC).
