    GeForce 3 or PPC7450?

Maybe supplies are improving of the PPC7450 so new packages may include those, or maybe Apple want sto bundle the GeForce 3.

Or perhaps a new version of Final Cut Pro is on the horizon, ready for OS X.

    If it costs too much..

...then its not for *you* - duh.

The item listed is an extensive hardware/software package, but its price is in line with similar-level products sold to PROFESIONALS who work at companies making multiple-millions per year and are the ones paying for the computers and software their employees use to do high-end/high-quality work.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people thing Apple's offerings should ALL be sub-$1k no matter what it is or who its being sold to.

Wahh iTunes is totally free but but it doesn't have skins or an EQ!!!

    Superdrive?

It says in the bundled software that the systems include iDVD. But whats the point of iDVD without Superdrive?

Maybe they are going to include SuperDrive, iDVD and/or even DVD Studio PRO in the new versions.

    what those should have

Those would be great if they gave DVD SP as well as FCP.

I'm betting they'll bundle GeForce 3 as well as OS X compliant versions of a bunch of those apps starting July. for now it may just be a clock speed update.

    Targa 3k and QT 5

Maybe QT 5 is being released with its real time APIs which the Targa 3000 can hook on to .. finally giving the Targa 3k real time editing capability .. like its PC counter part ..

    Quicktime ETA

I realize Preview 3 just came out, but is there any word when Quicktime 5 will be officially released?

And will there finally be a new version of Apple's Quicktime VR Authoring Studio?

    Matrox deal?

Hmm, it says on Matrox's webpage that they'll soon be offering a Mac version of their real-time video editing card. It also says that it will also be available as a complete solution with Apple hardware and a new version of Final Cut pro that enables the real-time effects that the Matrox hardware can do. It's due out in Spring supposedly, I wonder if this has anything to do with it...

    Compatibility

As a reseller of this board (CineWave) the answer of availability may be as simple as that they (Pinnacle) have yet to complete their internal compatibility tests. We expect the tests to be completed within the next week or two.

    re: Matrox deal

The Matrox site has said that since last spring (frustrating). I'm anxious to see what the new bundle will be. The cine wave is a nice card. I just hope there are some improvements to FCP at NAB.
