Net2Phone Mac beta due next month

updated 10:15 am EST, Fri February 23, 2001

Net2Phone says it will release a public beta of its Mac software some time next month. Net2Phone allows users to make free phone calls from their PC to anywhere in the US, and offers reduced rates for international calls. In September we reported that Net2Phone was aiming to have its Mac software ready by January.

Net2Phone didn't say that. Someone who registered a URL that made people think he was Net2Phone said that there'd be a client for the Mac in January, it wasn't true. He apologized a couple days later.

I think better late than never. Whether or not they said it, it is finally nice to see them not ignoring us Mac Users

    Sloppy secons again, huh?

Once again we get a second class citizen program. Will probably be released for OS 9 when OS X ships, then we have to wait till the end of the year to get a Carbon version. I'll stick with the free long distance on my cell phone.
