Mac mini bulk order denied
Apple may be planning to release a newer, faster version of its Intel-based Mac mini system in the near future. One blogger who works for a colocation company says he was denied a bulk order of Mac minis, and was told by an Apple representative that the store was not allowed to place new bulk orders until after Labor Day, according to Electronista. That same blogger in late February reported the same behavior, with Apple denying his bulk order of Mac minis. Days later, the Cupertino-based company updated the Mac mini with Intel processors. The report coincides with an expected broader availability of Core 2 Duo mobile chips from Intel, which are likely to form the basis of a Mac mini update, were Apple to released faster versions of its sub-desktop system.

Apart from spelling it wrong (sorry, couldn't resist) as a Brit I know the US celebrates Labor Day on the first Monday of September - correct guys?

Labor day is September 4th, probably the first Monday in September in the US. Most people get the day off, sort of a last day of summer break.

Its got to be true! There's no doubts here! It happened once so any time else it must mean it'll happen again. It certainly couldn't because they are low in stock and don't want all inventory going to one person. And is Apple just incapable of changing the order after its made? I mean, that's what they do to other buyers!
Of course, you could look at it under several other scenarios:
1) They won't allow bulk orders because they're dropping the computer altogether.
2) They won't allow the bulk order because the price is going to increase. (This happened when they went to the intel based ones)
3) They need to hold off because their minis are about to be recalled because all they do is explode on impact.
4) Creative has a patent that covers the mini as well, and they need to work out a deal on that one.
5) Maybe some genius realized that if they made the mini twice as big, they could actually produce them cheaper, put in regular components that run faster, maybe shove in a TV tuner card so users could actually use it in a media center, if that's what they want to do, not to mention set it up so people could easily open them without needing a putty knife and a credit card, but then they don't want to take any large orders because some people might get upset that the mini can no longer fit into a car.
