Conserving Bandwith

They have it down to preserve bandwith, same with iReview, iCards etc.... It's non-essestial so it's down.

While iTools is unavailable, I can still access my iDisk, which has no new items (yet!). Check your Recent Servers.

Well the late builds of OS X show that mac.com email will support IMAP and Authenticated SMTP (via mail.mac.com), now wouldn't that just be cool ;)

With iTunes and iTools, it's a natural that you should be able to load up your favorite MP3's and listen to them from any Macintosh in the world thru iTunes.

iDisk speed and system ho

iDisks annoying ability to lock up your system for minutes at a time has been solved for months: OS X.

Under the Public Beta, I can download at 50k/sec on my DSL, where I'm lucky to get 10 under 9, and it rarely causes any impact on system performance.

Makes iDisks SO much more useful.

iTools down to give us a software surprise!!!

Right after Macworld SanFrancisco, in my iTools iDisk I had iTunes and other software update
goodies from Apple (including 9.1).

It was a simple drag and drop to my desktop to install them.

We are due for another significant demonstration of the value of the internet, Apple and iTools!
(my guess)

Apple signed with a privacy management company (read cookie-blocking proxy & mail hiding service) to add privacy tools for Mac OS X, according to a press relase I read. Maybe they put it in a new iTool instead..

You guys are goofy...

Ok... if you guys would have thought to check out www.apple.co.jp (the Japan Apple Site), you would have noticed that THEIR itools are NOT down. Now, if you were going to introduce more itools in JAPAN, don't you think you'd be updating the JAPANESE site as well?

By the way, Apple doesn't have to take itools down for new software to appear in the software folder.

I remember diskcopy being updated without itools going down.
I was working on a homepage, and between the time I started and finished, the diskcopy was there.

You guys...LOL... always looking for SOMETHING new...LOL...

Here's my prediction:

17" G4 iMacs with combo DVD/CDRW drives, although on 100Mhz busses and using same old same old PC100 Ram.

Thats all, I think. :)

Oh, and new cubes, yeah.

Apple Store Down too

Normally they just let it fall apart durring a steve jobs keynote, and half update, half get broken links. This time they left a post-it note saying to come back, and phone numbers, which isn't nearly as much fun as trying to see new stuff, only to get server errors, and broken little error pictures everywhere.

...i am a die-hard mac fan....i own ibook, g4, g3, 15 inch studio display..2 imacs....and..........I hate the new iMac colors!!!!!...even my sister hates it (16 years old who converted to mac world by steve's first Bondi Blue iMac) ..my mom dislikes it (thinks it's for 10~13 years old children)

...do i need to say more? new iMac is DISGUSTING :(

Is Steve on Mushrooms?

Those new iMacs would look right at home with beads, bongs, and Beetles music, but I think it will turn off about 97% of potential buyers. And what the h*** is he doing RAISING the price of the low end model while arguably not adding any features? And what's with the 64 Meg RAM? Does anyone with a brain want a new Mac with under 128 Meg of RAM nowadays? I am very, very upset.

8 Months?!?

Sorry to say but Jobs has lost it. Apple spent 8 months of R&D to design new polkadots and flowers (just wait for MWNY in July when the paisley models get announced!) Its quite pathetic that with all that Apple could have/ should have done to rejuvenate the imac line, that we got minor speed bumps and *flowers* -- where the blazes is the 17 monitor (I don't think you CAN buy a PC now with a 15" monitor ;) -- Where is the accelerated video (I think rage pro is as close to end of life as it can get) I just can't picture people rushing out to get these new machines and certainly anyone that has been sitting on a purchase to see what is around the corner isn't going to be terribly happy. "Think Different" is not "Think Lame".

Maybe its time for the board to take back the jet so that Steve can get back to saving the company...

Haven't you all noticed that iReview is gone from the tabs at the top of all pages on Apple's site that currently aren't experiencing scheduled maintenance? The new navigation (tabs) at the top of Apple's site has a blue apple, the maintenance sites, iTools, iCards, etc have the old red apple tabs. They're could just be moving iReview into iTools (or canning it all together). The new "blue" navigation could also be an interim solution until they release "the next big thing".

iTools has new logo!

Anyway, enough irrelated iMac talk.

In the latest builds of Mac OS X, as well as even now on Apple's own Apple Store SITE, there is a new iTools logo!

So, expect a new and updated look throughout... And no more lame iReview tab.

new imacs

Ok... 2 things.

The new imacs have a 16meg Rage 128 Ultra card THATS NOT THE SAME OLD VIDEO AS BEFORE.

and

The new imac also have 2 firewire ports (EVEN the BASE MODEL) ... that is why you see the $100 increase.

oh yeah,

AND the BASE IMAC also has an Airport antenna and an internal slot for it.
