'Hasta la vista, Vista'

MacNN has exclusive shots of yet another banner from Apple's worldwide developer conference that makes reference to Microsoft's yet unreleased operating system. Taking yet another jab at Microsoft using its annual developer conference at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco, a newly photographed banner reads 'Hasta la vista, Vista." Apple, expected to debut its next-generation operating system, Mac OS X 10.5 Leapard, is trying to out-duel Microsoft, whose next-generation Windows operating system has been delayed many times. Another banner (not photographed) says 'Redmond has a cat problem', according to a MacNN reporter. On Sunday, we noted the "Vista 2.0" banner photographed earlier in the weekend. As usualy, we expect the online Apple Store to be taken off-line temporarily while the company updates/adds new products. MacNN will offer live coverage of the event at live.macnn.com.

I wonder..

I always wondered just how far Apple can go with their jibes at Windows, when Gates/Microsoft itself owns a sizeable chunk of Apple. No?

Get rid of the PC owners dumb thing.

Got my boys the Macbook. They figured out imovie by themselves.

You should see the classmates clamoring over the machines. The first generation ipod experience was the same. They still work by the way.

I suggest that imovie and macbook ads with the same ipod now generation light and sound effects would be far more effective.

Get your facts straight. Microshit and Billy Goat own ZERO percent of Apple. That $150 million dollar investment expired ages ago. Wake up. If things continue the way they are, it will be Apple that owns Microsoft. But then again, why would they want that garbage.

Microsoft's $150 million purchase of non-voting stock represented less than 4% of Apple's cash assets. Of its total market capitalization, the $150 million was a tiny drop in the bucket. It did not expire. Before the first Apple-Microsoft five-year agreement expired, Microsoft sold its Apple stock at a profit.

The jabs and pokes at MS and Gates are intended for the demented and twisted sense of humour of the propeller heads. They are inspirational. They are not aimed at the stock market.

The fact is, the jabs and pokes tick off the delusional, moronic Windows users who think the "promise of better things to come" is hilarious. What could be better?

The old "$150 million investment" was widely played in the press as MS buying a major piece of Apple. It was a token gesture that, with some reality distortion, helped the investment community to better understand Apple's viability and helped Apple present a case to consumers. It was important from a marketing and promotional point of view but certainly not something that deluded the stock analysts.

Now let's look forward to Leopard! Let this big cat scratch the eyes out of the Rats of Redmond!
