Tech: Napster mediator, PGP shakeup

Evening tech news: A federal judge has appointed retired federal Judge Eugene Lynch to act as a mediator between Napster and the recording industry to try and work out a settlement; encryption guru Phil Zimmerman, creator of PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), is leaving Network Associates, citing differences between him and the company on the amount of source code to be openly published; and Intel hopes to save hundreds of millions of dollars by delaying raises, cutting back on hiring and slashing spending amid a slowing economy and slumping personal computer sales.
