G4/667 systems ship, iMovie update expected

Following Apple's G4/733 shipping announcement yesterday, MacNN reader Wayne Parker confirms that G4/667 systems have begun shipping as well. "I just got off the phone with the Apple Store, my BTO 667MHz, ordered 9 January, just went out the door!" Meanwhile, Jeff K., who received his G4/733 today, notes that an iMovie update is in the works. "I just received my 733 MHz G4 from Apple and the Read Me file says 'get the updated version of iMovie 2.02 for better performance.'" iMovie is currently at version 2.01.

    Hmmm. 667 really shipped?

    I'd wait to celebrate until I got a FedEx tracking number, myself. Just because they said it shipped doesn't necessarily mean it actually is on a truck/plane/boat/horse somewhere.

    Apple Store Info

    Just got off the phone with the Apple Store. After giving them my order number I was put on hold for about 3 minutes. When he got back on he told me my machine would ship this week. He said to check my email each day this week for a FedEx tracking number. If I didn't get the number by Friday night he said to call them on Saturday and he felt sure they could give me a tracking number over the phone by then. He said I should get my 667 BTO by early next week at the latest. I ordered it on Jan. 11th
    I am crossing my fingers.

    Not holding my breath

    I ordered a 667 on the 9th, just as soon as the site came back up from the changeover. I've called the Apple Store and got the "You were quoted 7-10 weeks at the time of order so I would look for it in the beginning of March at the earliest."

    Maybe I just got a representative who wasn't interested in being helpful, but I'm not expecting anything soon with the hope that I will be pleasantly suprised.

    How were the orders place

    For people who got thier 733's already (or 667's), how was the order placed? I heard people saying that they placed the order during the keynote and don't have it. Did they order it regularly and pay retail? Education Discount? Developer Discount?
