NewTek has begun shipping LightWave [6] for Macintosh. The significant upgdate to the $2,500 3-D animation software offers advanced character animation tools, a new modeling paradigm and a new architecture. It also incorporates Open GL technologies, Altivec tuning, QuickTime support and OS X compliance. Registered uses of version 5.6 can purchase the update for $500.
