MacBook heat problems
Apple has admitted that an oversight during its laptop production may cause some of its new MacBook laptops to overheat. Reaffirming earlier reports, the company said that some users experiencing warmer-than-normal running temperatures should check for the presence of a clear plastic covering that was inadvertantly left in place over the rear vent. "Some MacBook computers may appear to be running too warm, with the fan running consistently and heat emanating from the top and/or the bottom of the computer," Apple noted in a new tech support document posted to its website. "If this happens with your MacBook, check the rear vent of the MacBook to make sure it's not blocked." The company said that some MacBooks may have left the factory with a thin piece of clear plastic covering the rear vent, noting that the coverings prevents dust from getting into the computer in the factory, but that it should be removed during normal use; however, the company reiterated that the bottom surface and some areas between the keyboard and LCD hinge of any Apple notebook computer can become hot after extended periods of use.

Whoops!

Is is Apple's fault?
06/06, 12:59pm reply
Or is it maybe the manufacturer's fault? You guys do realize that these laptops are not being built in the US right? And that most of them did not have this plastic cover on the computer...
It is probably the manufacturer's fault, and they probably screwed up only on a few occasions...
Suing... yeah, can I sue you for wasting my bandwidth?

Isn't it Asustek that landed the contract to manufacture these for Apple? So, if anything, it's a problem caused by the contractor, Apple has caught it, and is making an informative announcement about it to it's customers. That's a good thing! (unless Apple specs specify that the sheet be left on the vent, which I highly doubt.)
Oh, and what would be a thread be without a useless non-contribution by testy testudo... Really, buddy, what has Apple ever done to you to make you THAT bitter? ...or maybe you're just bitter because your mom doesn't buy you any of the new shiny toys, and you lame Apple for it..?

Its gotten to the point where a simple comment "Whoops" (which I don't know can be construed in any other way then attempting at humor) is seen as some bitter remark.
Now, if I went off on how this was all Apple's fault because once you outsource your production, you lose the total control that would ensure these kind of things wouldn't occur (which is odd, because you know that's what Steve likes).
Or saying something like "Hey, at least you don't have to take the computer apart to remove the plastic, like you do with the PowerMac G5s, which, for some reason, always ships with some plastic inside that you need to remove (but only know about it if you're one of those "Read the manual" types).
But it was just a "Whoops!".
And NMNTBS means No more needs to be said.

Coming from testudo, I thought NMNTBS meant "Now More Needy Troll B.S."
Thanks for clarifying :)
