IMG: iShock II Preview

IMG has published a preview of MacAlly's iShock II, an upcoming Mac gamepad that has the unique distinction of being the first on the platform to support force feedback. Force feedback requires support for it within the game, and MacAlly is working with game developers to have force feedback implemented in many upcoming titles beginning with those from long-time Mac game developer and publisher Ambrosia Software. "Ambrosia [Software]'s Aperion and Ferazel's Wand are the first titles to support FFB, thanks to the help of Ambrosia's Ben Spees," says MacAlly's Andy Chen. "Ambrosia said that they will implement FFB into all their future games."

The iShock 2 may be the first force feedback controller that actually has drivers that let it work, but the Gravis Exterminator dual shock was the first that you could actually plug in, and the FFB actually works through VPC, even though the Mac does not.
And given MacAlly's history of poor quality manufacturing (I work in a shop and we take back about 25% of MacAlly products with hardware faults), and also questionable game support (the original iShock and VGS?)
I do call for Gravis or someone similar to hurry up and get some of their dual shock products working on the mac side.
