After making its consumer-oriented video editing software iMovie available for free download at the end of last month, Apple today announced that more than 150,000 copies had been downloaded during the first week. The software, which Apple says is for Power Mac G4 and FireWire PowerBook users, has proven to be compatible on a wide variety of systems, including Blue & White G3, beige G3, and 604-based machines.
