MS gets new president, COO, antitrust probe

updated 07:30 am EST, Wed February 14, 2001

In other Microsoft news, the company later today will announce the promotion of Rick Belluzzo to president and COO. Steve Ballmer, who took over the role of president from Bill Gates a year and a half ago, will remain CEO. Additionally, the government is launching another antitrust probe against the company, this time stemming from its partnership with Corel and the company's pending $1.1 billion buyout of business-accounting software maker Great Plains.

    More!

There can never be enough law suits against Microsoft for what they've done and continue to do; mocking the government and taking the public for fools. Enough is enough already. It's time to clean out the environment! I'm sure of speak for millions as well when I say we're sick of the lack of security, virus infections, and headaches associated with any products from Microsoft. They're like the plague!

    Ballmer

Ballmer didn't co-found Microsoft; that was Gates's and Allen's job.

Belluzo is the moron/stooge that drove Silicon Graphics, a once proud company, into the earth, before jumping ship to MS

    Belluzzo

Belluzo put a very successful Silicon Graphics on a road to failure with NT; the company tanked and MS hires the man. It smells bad; really bad. His new position guarantees his silence on the issue. Perhaps the feds should be talking to him. At the very least, the Silicon Graphics shareholders should be asking some questions...

    Well if we're lucky

He'll help the boys at MS s**** themselves and sink the ship there too. Sad to see it happen to Silicon Graphics but it would be nice to see it happen to MS a little...

    Beluzzo is an idiot

Before trying to drive SGI into the ground, Beluzzo was the head of
HP's Unix workstation product line, where he started HP down the
road to NT ruin by trying to phase out their HP-UX operating systems.

When talking to our longtime HP rep, he said that the biggest damage
HP has ever done to another company was to send Rick Beluzzo to SGI.

The man can turn gold into lead. Let's hope he does the same to M$.

    MSN?

Allegedly Belluzo "turned around MSN". That's news to me-- MSN is by definition populated with worse lamers than AOL.
