Canon also introduced new CanoScan 1230UF and CanoScan 2400UF color flatbed scanners with large format built-in film adapters, which offer 48-bit color scanning, improved resolutions and scanning speeds. The USB-enabled scanners offer the ability for users to scan 35mm, medium format and 4x5-inch slides, transparencies and negatives and use new Data Compression Transfer technology, which it says transfers images 30 percent faster than previous CanoScan scanner models. The 1230UF offers 1200x2400 dpi while the 2400UF offers 2400x4800 dpi up to 9600x9600 dpi for ultra-high-resolution color scans. Both ship in April for $300 and $500 respectively.

My Canoscan N1220U is a small, sleek, s*** device. It has many nice features like not needing a power cord and having a push button trigger... But it doesn't work. The included Mac software doesn't work and there is no indication that it ever will. I have tried it on my 9600/350 and on several computers at the local CompUSA. It doesn't work on any of them. Customer service was polite but had no answers.
Some of the software is from other companies. The advertising says it comes with Omnipage. It is not Omnipage as sold by anyone else. It is a stripped-down version that Omnipage customer service has never heard of, and it doesn't work.
I advise great caution before falling for the beauty of this machine. Make sure you can get your money back if necessary.
