CanoScan FS4000US: desktop film scanner

Canon today introduced a new, high-speed desktop film scanner designed for use with "virtually all" 35mm and Advanced Photo System films. The CanoScan FS4000US offers 4000-dpi optical resolution at 42-bit color as well as 14-bit A/D conversion; both USB and SCSI-2 interfaces; a built-in autofocus mechanism; and a software bundle that includes Adobe Photoshop LE and Canon's FilmGet FS driver software. The $1,100 scanner is due in the second quarter of this year.
