CNN's latest Technogadgets roundup includes the PowerBook G4: "that widescreen does more than just let you view two browser windows side-by-side. It also delivers DVD motion pictures in a widescreen format. Fire this thing up on the next plane you're on and you can forget the in-flight movie. Heck, you can entertain the whole cabin." An included poll asks which one you would want to take on your next flight.

I hate it when newscasters jump in and try to act all cute and funny. She's oohing over "oh...look at the DOG!" while he's trying to explain how you can edit video on it sitting in your airplane seat. Sheeesh. SHUT UP!

But I have to admit, the G4 makes the $3000 IBM Portfolio thing look like Tinker Toys.

the apple does not belong next to the pct book and that ibm. it makes em look funny. the sony is way too small to do anything real world. I have stickie notes that are bigger than that screen, what a waste of money. and the ibm is for bankers and people who "keep the books". stiff office people that dont have a clue. then he goes out and shows video editing and playback in imovie. he should have done it in FCP and made people feel even more envious. teach 'em how to blue screen and stop motion animate, start doing motion tweens and cool transitions while he's at it.

the sony looks like a toy. seems like it doesn't do much.

with regards to the ibm...i'm a lefty, now what? If they did offer that in a "left handed" configuration, what if my wife wants to use it (she writes right handed)?

IBM is neat

but I would take the G4 (to replace my "old" pismo). as for her...what a stupid b****. You notice how most of her rediculous comments are during the time hes talking about the apple. She has always annoyed me while watching CNN. I guess every network needs a moron (NBC has more then any I think) but, shes CNN's

That sucka runs hot, I tell ya... you'll need that Podium CoolPad to keep TiBaby on your lap for any length of time. (still, I use Starbucks coffee-cup sleeves to mount my Wallstreet; they do just as well).

speed is remarkable

That's right a notebook faster than the previous top of the line desktop. Now that's remarkable. I thought 8MB of VRAM would be slower than the 16MB of VRAM in the desktop. But not according to these benchmarks. 50% faster as a matter of fact for the Powerbook. Mmmmm...now if only some games like Fly! didn't inspect how much VRAM you had before they crashed saying you don't have enough.
