Video card results; Tony Hawk 2 poll

updated 01:20 pm EST, Tue February 6, 2001

Our poll last week asked, "Which video card do you use for gaming on your Mac?" The vast majority of respondents, 40.56%, are using a Rage 128 or Rage 128 Pro while 19.44% are using an ATI Radeon and 16.33% are using a Voodoo-branded card. 8.67% are still using an ATI Rage Pro and 5.33% have already purchased a new G4 with an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX installed. Voodoo 1/2, Other and Older ATI combined represented over 9%. This week's poll asks, "Are you planning to purchase Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Mac once it's released this spring?" Please vote in the left sidebar of any page on the site.

    Stuck with a Voodoo

Someone's bias is showing. I have a Voodoo3 2000 card, it works. At one time, it worked better then the available ATI offering. I would still own it regardless of whether or not 3dfx had been bought out, so I am not "stuck" with it. Saying that I am stuck with it is not an appropriate comment. Please don't speak for me. This is typical of the press trying to stir up people's emotions rather than reporting, "the facts, just the facts".

    No Bias

I've changed the phrase in question to avoid any assumptions being made about bias. I actually really liked 3dfx Interactive's products for many, many years and I was really disappointed to see them exit the market, especially in the way that they did. However, I was simply using the "stuck with" phrase the reflect the situation that I've found many Voodoo4/5 owners especially of having issues with compatibility and bugs and such in the drivers and really having no one to turn to for help or support except for other owners and web forums.
