VE: Neverwinter Nights Update

Bioware's Scott Greig, Lead Programmer on Neverwinter Nights, is the author of an article at Voodoo Extreme that covers the current status of the 3D role-playing game and the various stages it has gone through. "...I would have to say that the engine itself is finally in the 'all the pieces are coming together' stage," says Greig. The game is expected to be released this summer for the Mac, PC and Linux.

    Yeah it's also going to be out on BeOS. Even games.macnn.com shows that in their product info page, not sure why it was omitted here :-)

    I think NWN was the game that a while ago a developer mentioned that their fastest server was a G4. Bodes well. Assuming I'm remembering the right game!

    BeOS up in the air

    Actually, the last I heard was that the BeOS version of Neverwinter Nights was up in the air. It's a definite possibility, but the development team came to realize that the BeOS market was so very small, especially for games, that they could probably use the extra time not spent on building/testing/fixing the BeOS version to polish the game for the other platforms.
