Carmack to enter Hall of Fame

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences will induct John Carmack, id Software's Lead programmer and the technical innovator behind many of the foundations of today's first-person shooter genre, into its Hall of Fame during the Fourth Annual Interactive Achievement Awards on March 22. Squaresoft's Hironobu Sakaguchi, Firaxis' Sid Meier and Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto are the only others to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
