wonder if we'll be able to peek under the caps to find the winners, like last year. that was a boon for me, once i caught on. anybody seen a bottle from this year's contest and tried?
I'm wondering the same thing as well. I don't feel bad doing so because I'm still buying the drink and participating in the promotion. :-)
as steve jobs would say. part of the fun for me was just buying a couple bottles and wondering if i won with any of them. peeking would take away that fun. good luck!
i think the cap peeking is even easier this time around.
I must say after last years disaster I'm surprised Apple decided to do this with Pepsi again. I live in Los Angeles. Last year when Apple and Pepsi had this promotion bottles with the game pieces didn't make it to the shelves here (or in many places) until a week before the end of the contest. When they did finally appear I bought a winner (with a tilt of the bottle) but the winning code would not work when typed in. Lets hope Apple and Pepsi have their act together better this time.
Buy 3 full cases (30 bottles, if I recall correctly) of bottled Pepsi direct from the distribution center, like I did.
I don't think I ever saw these in stores during the last contest. I hope this is more widespread.
Last time I bought one bottle (I don't drink carbonated beverages in general) for fun.
But I don't think peeking is a big deal. In fact, I think Pepsi, and Apple would rather you get the opportunity to download a song.
They can come back and say, "hey look 10 million songs downloaded through the pepsi promotion." vs. "10k songs..." "look it worked." plus it gets more people to the itunes music store. Get people in the habit of downloading songs form itunes. Etc.
They are spending a lot of money on this promotion - they want songs to be downloaded.
We have had the bottles in Raleigh for nearly a week now. I have tried the "hack" this year (it worked very well last year), but this year you cannot see the codes at all. Pepsi is filling the bottles more this year. Darn!

that the commercial doesn't focus on some annoying p****** girl with an aggravating accent. Perhaps the worst ad apple has ever been associated with.
