OmniWeb 4.0b9 fixes bugs, CSS support problem

updated 01:12 pm EST, Fri January 26, 2001

Omnigroup has posted OmniWeb 4.0b9, its full-featured native web browser for Mac OS X written using Apple's advanced Cocoa frameworks. This version has a number of bug fixes, disables CSS by default (due to incompatibilities with certain Websites), and has proper form submission. OmniWeb is free but the company is encouraging users to support development by purchasing a $30 license ($20 for education).

    Why this version seems so

We're in the middle of a bunch of big changes to OmniWeb that we can't release yet, but we went back and did beta-9 off the old code base because there were some stability problems with beta-8.

So, if you're not impressed with the amount of work we've done in the months since beta-8, it's because the vast majority of that work is on a newer code branch that you haven't seen.
