With the canadian dollar gaining more ground every day, it'll be interesting to see what the retail price structure will be.

Apple Canada Store

While I welcome the news for a store here in Canada (finally), It would be nice to maybe spread-out the stores across the country rather than concentrate them around the center-of-the-universe Toronto area. How about West Edmonton Mall for instance? If not, I'd still rather drive to Colorado, Oregon, or wherever and make it part of a holiday. That aside, it's a small step in the right direction.

Well Toronto is...

...after all the center of the non-Bush universe ... Now perhaps we need a slightly trendier location, in an area that doesn't challenge existing Apple dealers, with several modelling agencies nearby like the SOHO NYC store - let's say Summerhill/Rosedale, hehe?

More stores?

Open one in Ottawa, please. Now that bMac is gone, there's no store that showcases Apple products.

Compusmart and BestBuy just don't show off the Apple stuff like bMac did.

What's so trendy about Summerhill/Rosedale? Sure the homes are big and old money flows through its streets, but commerce in that area of the city is virtually non-existent (save for the furniture and antique shops). A better neighbourhood if you have SoHo in mind is Yorkville. Or if it were up to me, I'd say the best location is Queen West. It's the heart of the fashion district, has high pedestrian traffic and it's close enough to most design studios and ad agencies.

"The Ontario area"?

Where exactly is "in and around the Ontario area?" This "area" called Ontario is more than twice the size of California. Sure, only the lower 1/3 is really liveable, but could we be any more vague? ;-)

right...correct that. I meant "Toronto area" ...I shouldn't post comments with distractions. Anyhow, congrats to everyone there from Calgary. Looks like I'll stick to mail order for now, or a long drive down south.

Why not Bloor?

11/19, 08:33pm reply

Why not the Bloor & Yonge area? Good style spot - or for that matter, the Eaton Centre. Either is relatively easily accessible via the TTC, for locals and tourists. Yorkdale? Give me a break. Queen West - between Spadina and University, would be great too.

Vancouver and Montreal...

will probbaly follow. Being in Montreal,we have a couple of Mac resellers eventhough BMac went belly-up. If Apple does come to Montreal I sincerly hope union thugs don't coming knocking as is the fashion here in Quebec.
