Apple is offering a developers a new early development kit for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, which is expected to ship in a final version in the first half of next year. The Apple Developer Connection (ADC) is offering a for $500, which includes the benefits of ADC Select Membership as well as pre-release versions of Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger and Xcode 2.0, downloadable updates of the latest Tiger documentation, one-on-one access to Tiger support engineers, special developer discount on the latest Apple hardware, and the final versions of Mac OS X v10.4 and Xcode 2.0 when available. Apple is also offering a DVD-ROM filled with Tiger session videos from the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2004.

But I am only on chapter 5 of "Programming in Objective-C" by Stephen G. Kochan. I am a real newbie programmer who really wants a change in careers from Windows IT support to Mac OS X development and I'm jump all over this offer, but I'm afraid I won't be advanced enough in my programming skills to take advantage of all that this starter kit has to offer.
I've got to spend more time studying...
