    Hummmm...

Yeah... I am wondering what Apple calls "improve stability" since "minor" update requires a lot of software update and troubleshooting.
If Microsoft was doing that ("minor" upgardes every 6 month with software incompatibility), Apple fans would laught at PCusers...
Anyway, I don't see much improvement except that Suitcase doesn't work correctly and IE 5 crashes more often.

    IE 5? What?

I've had no problems, and the little UI changes (e.g., the Window menu item in the Finder) are excellent. I welcome these "minor" updates, especially given the fact that OSX is due out in two short months. Don't you think these "minor" updates might have something to do with running Classic in OSX? In other words, pipe down, Cathy -- these little updates likely will make a big difference when X hits the shelves.

    But...

After I updated to 9.1 I wasn't able to get 1152x870 as my native rez anymore. Wouldn't even show up on the monitor's control panel. Now I have to use some third party utility to get it. Ah well.

    What are you smoking?

I upgraded to 9.1 nearly two weeks ago, and the experience has been uniformly positive. Under 9.0.4, IE would crash on me every once in a while, but it hasn't since the upgrade. I have a PowerCenter Pro, which has a well known sound glitch that caused the sound to die under heavy hard disk usage, requiring a restart to restore, but with 9.1, I simply restart the application. I'm still getting used to the Command-Shift-Delete to empty the trash, I had hacked 9.0.4 to use Command-T for that, so now I end up adding lots of stuff to Favorites. ;{ But overall, stability has been AWSOME. My Mac has been up for 6ix days straight now. Oh, and I got my 1280x960 resolution back on my 21" Mitsubishi.

BTW, Suitcase 9 is a P.O.S. under *any* system; I got rid of it long ago.

Well, they do, and we do. (Apple's updates only come about half as frequently as Microsoft's service packs, though, and aren't nearly as far-reaching in trouble causing.)

Anyway, I've found 9.1 to be about the best minor upgrade so far. (It's a tossup with 8.6.) It feels much faster than 9.0.4, and the only compatibility issue I've come across is that the "Startup Disk" control panel doesn't work on my UMAX clone. Fortunately I only have one boot partition on that computer.

    9.1 Stability

    Hi Folks
For your info, 9.1 is the most stable MacOS ever,
I've been testing all of them sine Bride Of Buster and 9.1 f9c3 lasted 29 days without crash nor reboot dispite my numerous PR or beta software
NB : the system memory was stable at 22 MB for all this period of time

    All the best

    Assumptions, assumptions

    re: Hummmmmmmm

Stop assuming that since you had problems therefore everyone else did, too. Look at the results that other folks are seeing. Of course there are always a few bad experiences, but overall 9.1 seems to positive experience for MOST people.
