I wonder if this is to sweeten Steve to keep the Pixar deal going?

Kind of hard to imagine, since adding OS X content to a bust movie isn't exactly saying much.

Gee, is it going to insist upon installing InterActual Player every damn time I put the DVD in rather than using my default DVD program, just like it does in Windows too? Joy of joys!

Now even OS X users can join in completely pointless interactive content! Just what I always wanted.

Maybe it's just me, but this is an area where I'm actually happy that OS X has less "features" then windows.

Optimus ... my thoughts exactly, especially since this DVD came out a month or so ago. I was pleased to find it had Mac content. It plays, of course, via normal DVD player in Mac OS X, but the Mac content includes a screen saver, animated wallpaper, and the other fun stuff mentioned.

The Pirates of the Caribbean DVD did not contain the Mac player, but was the same "engine". I tried to get the files from the Pirates DVD to run using the Mac stuff, but there were too many things missing (compiled resources?).

HOWEVER, ont he Pirates DVD is a full QuickTime VR tour of the Disneyland ride (many of the rooms, anyway) and THAT is just HTML and QTVR and plays just fine if you open it in Safari.

WHY they didn't bother to provide that to both systems is beyond me.

I only wish and I guess we can hope Aladdin will contain many such fun features.. As will The Little Mermaid on its forthcoming re-release...(well it will be out again someday)
On second thought just stick to getting a good transfer of the movie...
