Indeed, very Quark-like.
What a nice gesture to all the designers who have been "beta-testing" InDesign since v1.5. Let me see, a subscription to Communication Arts superbly printed and delivered every month with bonus bitchin design annuals or a pdf from Adobe 6x's a year with free "male organ enlargement" spam for the rest of your life because you gave Adobe your email address.
Nice try Adobesoft. -a freakin pdf. Must still have some Aldus execs with tenure.
$80 is high, but still fair rate considering that at 16 pages, there's unlikely to be any adverts.
I currently subscribe to MacWorld (which I get very cheap) and Photoshop User (part of my membership - $99/yr) and Mac Design, so I'm already paying $150/year in subscriptions, but I've got something to show for it.
Bottom line: I'm interested. Call me when it's $29.95 for six ad-free PDF issues (or six ad-filled print editions) and we'll talk.
