$80?

That's downright Quark-like .. gouging us for $80 for a pdf. I'll give you $14.99.

I was going to subscribe to this until I saw that it was $80 for 6 PDFs a year. What a rip.

Indeed, very Quark-like.

Bi-monthly issues will be completely ignored by me ($0 annual subscription).

What a nice gesture to all the designers who have been "beta-testing" InDesign since v1.5. Let me see, a subscription to Communication Arts superbly printed and delivered every month with bonus bitchin design annuals or a pdf from Adobe 6x's a year with free "male organ enlargement" spam for the rest of your life because you gave Adobe your email address.

Nice try Adobesoft. -a freakin pdf. Must still have some Aldus execs with tenure.

Where does Adobe come in?

I didn't see any mention that this magazine is produced or supported by Adobe. It's an independent publication.

$80 is high, but still fair rate considering that at 16 pages, there's unlikely to be any adverts.

No sale, sorry

I'm exactly the sort of person they are targeting this to -- a print professional who has jumped (mostly) from QX to ID and needs to be able to get the most out of it, but that sub price has *got* to come down. It would be *close* to worth it if a) it was printed and b) it hit the ground running fabulously, but even then I'd *really* have to think about it.

I currently subscribe to MacWorld (which I get very cheap) and Photoshop User (part of my membership - $99/yr) and Mac Design, so I'm already paying $150/year in subscriptions, but I've got something to show for it.

Bottom line: I'm interested. Call me when it's $29.95 for six ad-free PDF issues (or six ad-filled print editions) and we'll talk.
