Master of Orion III to use OpenPlay

updated 10:52 am EST, Fri January 19, 2001

Quicksilver Software's Tim Hume, a programmer working on Master of Orion III, has responded to concerns from readers in regards to the Mac version of the game and networking compability between the Mac and PC versions. Hume notes that the company is planning to use OpenPlay, an open-source, cross-platform networking API being pushed by Apple and being refined and integrated with NetSprockets by a small team of volunteer programmers.
