Propellerhead Software made several announcements at NAMM in Anaheim, CA:
- The release of Reason, its $400 expandable music system for Windows and MacOS that includes a virtual studio rack of instruments such as analog synths, mixers, drum machines, effects, and a realtime multi-track sequencer as well as MIDI control of all devices, knobs, faders and parameters.
- Rewire 2.0, an update to its cross-application technology to transfer both MIDI and audio seamlessly between applications. Version 2.0 integrates MIDI, audio and transport control in single invisible application link. The company licenses ReWire 2.0 free of charge to software manufacturers.
- Recycle! 2.0, the "groovemaker," now works with stereo files and offers real-time previews for most settings, including tempo and pitch settings. It also offers REX2 file support with up to 60% non-lossy audio compression and ASIO support. It is due in March for $200.
