    Andrew Neff - Who cares?

Does anyone really care what andrew Neff has to say at this point?

His credibility is pretty much shot with anyone with any understanding of the PC industry (especially Apple).

    Neff needs a new hobby

I saw him on one of the news channel's business reports last night, re-stating his (to be kind) lunatic opinions from the other day. The reporter brought up how IBM beat expectations and then said "Do you still think they should get out of the industry?", or something that effect. Priceless moment :)

I found it odd that during that segment he kept using "we" - "we think", "we believe"... as if someone else in the industry agreed with him.

    telling...

Oh, how not being prostrated to Microsoft can garner support. What an unfortunate industry.

    AAPL is up 1$

Apparently, investors don't agree with him as the stock is up 1$ at the first official quote after the announcement. As said above, better go fishing or better hunting, i have an idea of the game (someone in Redmond area).

    not to defend...

... a dude who obviously did too much drugs in business school, but I think his comment about IBM was that they should exit the desktop PC business-- not computers in general. They probably should; that division tends to lose money most quarters.

It amazes me how bass-ackwards the analysts can be around AAPL. If consolidation is what he wants, PC- drones should move up to PowerPC; we should not dumb down to Intel chips. Over course, if MS had not bailed out the NT for PPC program (remember CHRP?), it would easier for Windozers to migrate. MS was savvy on that one: put Mac OS and NT on the same box-- which do you think people are actually going to use???? Mac OS, obviously.

Could you please refrain from posting links to wall street analyst related information (interviews, upgrades, downgrades, etc)?

There is no newsworth in these posts, since these people excell in stating the blindingly obvious and/or demonstrating their infuriating ignorance.

Maybe if we ignore them they will go away.

    There's a LITTLE newswor

Seeing as how analyst announcements affect Apple's stock price, I'd say that they're highly newsworthy. Those of us who own Apple stock (especially those unfortunate souls who bought it in the fifties or higher) have a great deal of interest in what analysts have to say ... if for no other reason than that OTHER people listen to them.
