Safari Extender 1.0
Batista.org has announced , a $10 contextual menu item that adds extra features to Safari such as the ability to re-order the Tabs used for Web browsing, and compose an email with the current web address in your browser. It can also temporarily turn images off, which helps speed loading for rapid browsing. After you find what you need you can then turn graphics back on easily. Other convenient functions in the contextual menu allow users to quickly go back or forward in a page, reload the page and increase or reduce the text size.

With Safari Extender you can do things Safari never allowed you to do before, such as re-arrange your Tabs by making a Tab be the first one, or make it the last one
Interesting I have always just placed them in the order I want them to be in. This can very easily be done by clicking on Show all Bookmarks icon and then place them in the order you want them to appear or load. Not hard at all and I believe Safari has done this since it's Beta stages, These guys must be PeeCee programers at heart always looking to make things easier but on a Mac it's just naturally easy.

What you say is true about opening tabs, but extender implies you can do this with a list of tabs you have open. I open a set of tabs at a time, but then open more tabs as I click on certain links I want to read. This implies I can sort these as is, not just my sites that I open at once in tabs.
