    waiting for the CD

too many problems reported with the updater, I'd rather wait for the full install CD (especially since it doesn't run in Classic anyway).

    language kits?

I would assume that users still have to purchase (over snail-mail, no less) the installer CD in order to use language kits, since the installer isn't any bigger. It seems that the OS 9.0 language kits work fine, but I am wondering for how long.

About breaking the classic environment, you don't actually use your main OS 9 system folder for it do you? Just install a scaled down, bare bones OS 9.0.4 system folder to use for classic, and add any extensions that may be needed to run certain apps. Just a suggestion...

OS9.1 will of course throw out the parts of the old kit that are not necessary anymore. I have done this with two computers and have had no problems ...

    Language Kits

What I don't understand is why the installer can't remove and reinstall the language kit itself. This is a pain in the a** because all my computers have language kits installed.

I will try the recommendations above and report what happens.

    Got the CD

I got the OS 9.1 Retail CD but still plan on using the 9.1 updater because it's much easier to update my 9.0.4 that way. The only things I grabbed from the 9.1 CD (that the download installer doesn't have) is ColorSync 3.0.3, Apple DVD Player 2.3 and Package First Aid 1.0.1.
