Westfield Shoppingtown

It's actually a company that owns a bunch of malls. There's a Westfield Shoppingtown in downtown Chicago, and the famous mall Old Orchard is now Westfield Shoppingtown Old Orchard. Stupid, really. Like people really care.

Around here it is known simply as Montgomery Mall and is actually one of the more high-end malls (as far as retailers) in the Washington D.C. area with lots of foot traffic. Montgomery County, MD is one of the more affluent counties in the U.S. so there should be lots of people willing to spend money. I was always of the belief that this was a prime location for an Apple store and my bet is that it will do just as well if not better than the two previously opened stores in the D.C. area.

Montgomery Mall is ghetto.
I wish Apple could get some space in Georgetown, on M St if possible. That Benetton spot would be great. Who shops at Benetton anyway? :)

Not sure what you classify as "ghetto" but an Apple store in Georgetown is wrong for many reasons:
Three that immediately come to mind :
1. Parking is horrendous. Who would want to lug their 20-inch iMac box down M street to put in their car.
2. All of the foot traffic is pedestrian. So when it rains, watch your sales go down the drain.
3. Think Gateway. They proved that the standalone strip mall concept does not work. Even though Georgetown is not a strip mall, people are not going to make a special trip down there to buy a computer
